The Co-operative Motor Group has been short-listed in the AM (Automotive Management) Awards for Best Digital Initiative.
The Group has been nominated for Initiatives including a new mobile website with QR code technology, SmartMail - an automated email notification system, and its integrated social media strategy.
The mobile friendly website reflects a new era of browsing that meets growing consumer demand for multi-channel brand websites and includes an improved search facility for mobile technologies.
The simple, yet efficient, mobile interface communicates original brand identity and can be used alongside the Quick Response (QR) initiative, which is part of an in-dealership marketing strategy.
The Co-operative Motor Group has also been recognised by the AM Awards judging panel for its use of SmartMail, an engaging consumer response tool, and a social media following which has increased by 1400 per cent since last year.
Katy Robinson, Digital Marketing Administrator of The Co-operative Motor Group, said: “These are exciting developments which have allowed us to put the customer at the heart of everything we do while gaining competitive advantage in what has been a challenging year for the motor industry.
“Not all potential customers have the time to visit our showrooms during normal working hours, so the smartphone-enabled website and associated QR code technology means that they can shop or research a vehicle and get full background details at any time – all via their smartphone or handheld device.
“This is cutting-edge technology that is only now becoming popular in the UK, but over the coming months it will be increasingly used, and we believe will become the norm in a very short time span.”
The winner of Best Digital Initiative award will be revealed at the AM Awards in Birmingham on February 15.
