Market slump or no market slump, the The Co-operative Motor Group Renault Blackpool dealership on Amy Johnson Way is celebrating six months continued success, with used car sales targets being exceeded by 25%.
The impressive news comes as sales manager Mike Spencer returns to the dealership following an 18 month break from the company. Having left The Co-operative Motor Group Motor Group in January 2007 – after three years working for the preston dealership – Mike joined The Pendragon Group’s Vauxhall team in Wigan.
But speaking of his return, Mike – who lives in Wigan – said: “When the opportunity arose to rejoin the The Co-operative Motor Group team I jumped at the chance. Being part of the Co-Operative Group, The Co-operative Motor Group really is a great employer with high standards and utmost respect for staff.
“The recent performance figures show that despite the difficulties being experienced throughout the industry, our used car department is thriving. I put that down to the fact that we’re selective with the cars we put on the forecourt, we carefully price our vehicles and most importantly we treat people properly.
Dealer principal Mark Favell said he is delighted about Mike’s return and the performance of the dealership, the only one in the Blackpool area. He said: “We are very proud of our success. There has been a big commitment to the selective recruitment, training and development of staff, excellent service and great deals for customers. All in all, the team’s commitment and hardworking ethos has paid off”.
