The Co-operative Motor Group has been Short listed in the Motor Trader Awards 2010

The Co-operative Motor Group has made it onto the shortlist for the Motor Trader Industry Awards 2010 following a successful rebranding campaign.

In November 2009 The Co-operative decided to officially bring its Sunwin Motors used cars business under the group banner. Six months on and the success of the campaign has seen the motor group’s achievements recognised at the highest industry level.

Thanks to the quality of work put in over recent months, the firm has been shortlisted in the Dealer Marketing Award category, for companies that have planned and executed successful marketing campaigns which have gone on to deliver increased business opportunities. The Co-operative Motor Group has grown to include 24 dealer sites which represent leading vehicle manufacturers such as Jeep, Peugeot and Land Rover. The awards are designed to celebrate innovative thinking and creativity by car dealers in an industry which has been through a particularly challenging year.

Keith Willoughby of The Co-operative Motor Group, said: "Everyone at the group is delighted by the news that we have reached the final shortlist following all the hard work that has gone in over the last few months.

"Bringing all our sites under the new brand has been a major challenge, but one that all the team has relished. Over the years, Sunwin managed to establish strong relationships with customers in the North and the Midlands and we believe those links have become even stronger now we’re under The Co-operative Group umbrella."

The competition winners will be announced on the evening of July 14, during a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane.
