Notts County defender, Mike Edwards, has been named October’s player of the month. Nominated by the club’s coaches, and voted for by the fans, Mike returned to the team at the end of September and continued his consistent showings into the following month.
Mike, 30, picked up his prize, a luxury Co-operative food hamper, from the Club’s preferred car supplier, The Co-operative Motor Group. He picked up Man of the Match awards for the Plymouth and Southampton fixtures at Meadow Lane and scored a fantastic header in the latter.
This led to fans choosing him for the accolade ahead of John Spicer and Craig Westcarr.
Mike said: “I am delighted to claim the award from The Co-operative Motor Group and hope to continue to play well throughout the winter months to help Notts climb up the table.”
Gary Dighton, Dealer Principal at The Co-operative Motor Group’s Haydn Road site in Sherwood, said: “We’re delighted to present Mike with the award and as a local Co-operative business we feel it is important to support the club.”
