The Co-operative Motor Group Mazda Guiseley has been presented with an award by the West Yorkshire Motor Trade Partnership.
As a member of the Partnership, The Co-operative Motor Group Mazda, part of the Co-operative Group, has received an Excellent Customer Service Award, in recognition of its high standard of customer care, provided over the last 12 months.
Set up by West Yorkshire Trading Standards, the aim of the Partnership is for members of the public to ensure they are dealing with a reputable dealership, as garages have to undergo strict criteria to become a member.
Graham Hebblethwaite, chief officer of West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service, said: "Consumers of West Yorkshire need to feel reassured that they are dealing with a reputable trader. The Motor Trade Partnership provides consumers with a means of identifying legitimate garages and members like The Co-operative Motor Group Mazda help to regain consumer confidence".
Councillor Neil Taggart chairman of the West Yorkshire Joint Services Committee, which overseas the work of Trading Standards, added: "It comes as no surprise that consumers are said to be wary in their dealings with the motor trade as a few rogue traders damage the reputation of many legitimate businesses.
"The Motor Trade Partnership provides consumers with a means of identifying garages that go the extra mile in attending to their customers' needs and assurance that Members comply with the spirit and the letter of the law.
