Christmas is over, but at The Co-operative Motor Group Mazda, spirits remain high with the arrival of the all new Mazda6 in the Bradford Road and Sir Frank Whittle Road showrooms in Guiseley and Derby.
The new Mazda6 went on sale on 26 December with a 10-strong model line-up in saloon and hatchback body styles. The new family and fleet favourite has been redesigned to be an even more stylish, functional and economical family car and is priced from £15,100 on-the-road.
“The new Mazda6 has retained and enhanced some of the original model’s distinctive design features that set it apart from other vehicles,” comments the dealer principals. “Not only is this new car one of the most stylish in its class, its performance, practicality and economy figures are amongst the best available.”
Unlike most of us who piled on the pounds over Christmas, the new Mazda6 has lost up to 35kg and is even better equipped with enhanced safety features over its predecessor. Mazda believes that reducing weight and improving the car’s fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions should not have a detrimental effect on the car’s performance. So the new car can still compete with the best and the 2.5-litre Sport achieves 0-62mph in eight seconds and can reach a top speed of 137mph.
The new Mazda6 boasts five equipment levels – S, TS, TS2, Sport and a Sports Luxury ‘SL’ level. The SL matches the performance of the Sport model but has a more discreet exterior and more luxurious interior, consisting of full leather seats (with heated front seats), and a 240W Bose? surround sound premium audio system with eight speakers.
A 2.0-litre diesel engine joins the three petrol versions in January, and the Mazda6 family is completed by an estate version, which joins the range in March.
