Staff from The Co-operative Motor Group’s Peugeot dealership in Keighley have raised £3,000 for Mencap by cycling the length of the Liverpool to Leeds canal – 127 miles – in one day.

Two groups of cyclists set off from opposite ends of the canal and met in the middle after 63.5 miles.
Robert Jones, Dealer Principal at Peugeot, said: “This was a huge challenge as none of us are serious cyclists, but we were all determined to finish and raise a significant amount of money for this great charity.”
Mencap is The Co-operative Group’s charity of the year, and money raised through the partnership will allow Mencap and sister charity ENABLE Scotland to launch a ground-breaking programme called Inspire Me.
Inspire Me will work with thousands of young people with a learning disability aged 16 - 25, their parents and carers, and local communities, to overcome the exclusion and prejudice that many face in their lives. The project will do this by providing activities and training, together with volunteering and employment opportunities.
