Glue Sticks at the Ready!

An in-car DVD player, theme park tickets and art materials are up for grabs for children aged between 8 and 11 in Yorkshire, Lancashire and the Midlands.

A poster competition has been launched by The Co-operative Motor Group Finance in response to the recently enforced EU regulations, which state that children under 12 or less than 135cm tall must sit on a booster seat.

Children are required to design a bright and colourful poster, no bigger than A3, which shows parents and children that booster seats are not only a legal necessity but they can be cool as well.

The Co-operative Motor Group Finance’s general manager Tony Guest said: “We hope that this competition will prove an exciting and rewarding challenge for youngsters in the area, and will help promote the new laws in a fun and upbeat manner.

“The Government have predicted that the new booster seat regulations will prevent 2000 child deaths and injuries per year, so this is something The Co-operative Motor Group feel strongly about supporting.”

Children wishing to take part should send their poster to their nearest dealership, with their name, age and address clearly printed on the back.

An in-car DVD player, theme park tickets and art materials will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. The winning poster will also be put on show in the local The Co-operative Motor Group Finance dealerships.

The closing date for the competition is October 16th.
