Andy Pearson – manager of The Co-operative Motor Group’s car hire division in Keighley – has given away the keys to his very own Mercedes 220c class to ensure a customer didn’t leave the dealership disappointed.
Jason Briggs – a Yorkshire man now living in Florida, USA – came to visit relatives in his home town, but needed an automatic car during his three week stay in the country.
Andy explained: “We do normally have automatics in stock, but the demand for them rises significantly over the summer months, predominantly when American tourists come over to the UK.
“When I knew that we didn’t have a suitable vehicle for the first week of Jason’s visit, I didn’t want to see him leave empty handed, especially when I knew my own car would be perfect for him.
“So I loaned Jason my Mercedes and he donated £105.00, to Cancer Research UK in memory of one of his relatives who recently passed away with the disease.
“We always try to ensure that we meet our client’s requirements, so I’m pleased that a solution was found, and a charity benefited from it too!”
The Co-operative Motor Group’s car hire division – established ten year’s ago at the Peugeot Keighley dealership – has a fleet over 70 nearly new vehicles, available for private and business use.
