Cyclists to hit the coasts

A dozen daring cyclists from Bradford set off on a cross-country bike ride yesterday to raise money for Bradford Disability Sports and Leisure (BDSL).

The group which includes Keighley-born Anthony Gill, who whom the Cycling Masters World Track Championship print title in 2008.

They are riding coast to coast from Whitehaven to Sunderland to help raise money to start a new cycling club for people with learning or physical disabilities. The team dubbed ‘The Hammsters’ has already ridden twice from Bradford to its twin town of Hamm in Germany.

A van has been donated to the group by The Co-operative Motor Group Nissan in Keighley, which transported them from Bradford to Whitehaven.
