Bradford’s leading golfers will be travelling to the Welsh Young Pro’s tournament in compact style next month, courtesy of The Co-operative Motor Group Peugeot Keighley.
The motor dealership, on Worth Way, Keighley, has agreed to loan two of its award-winning Peugeot 308 hatchbacks to Bradford Golf Club to ferry its players around the UK.
Among those to benefit will be 26-year-old Gareth Murray, who has worked at the Bradford club for two years, the last twelve months as a fully qualified PGA professional class A.
Also Andrew Hall, 28, former professional at Whickham Golf Club in the North East. Andrew turned professional at just 18 after serving his golfing apprenticeship at Otley and Ilkley
The sponsorship deal – a sporting first for the dealership – has been negotiated by dealer principal Robert Jones.
Robert explained: “I was extremely impressed by both Gareth and Andrew’s enthusiasm and love for the sport - they are both fantastic ambassadors for Bradford – and sponsoring two cars for a year seemed like a good way to show our support for them and for local sport generally."
The 308’s will have their first tournament outing on April 24-25 when Gareth plays the new 36-hole Welsh Young Pro’s at the Bull Bay Golf Club, Anglesey.
